Exceptional Legal Counsel for Banks and Businesses.
Nexus Legal represents banks and lenders in complex commercial financing transactions. Licensed in Oklahoma and Texas.
In two years, Nexus Legal has successfully closed over $2 billion in loan transactions. We handle large multi-state healthcare and real estate financings, co-lender and intercreditor arrangements, syndicated credit facilities, acquisition financing, construction loans, equipment financings, aviation finance, bond financing, tenant-in-common structures, and reverse 1031 exchanges.
These are the deals we are built for: the complex financings where getting the details right is what protects the bank. Our work spans healthcare, commercial real estate, and multi-state financings, along with the non-traditional borrower structures, layered leases and SNDAs, and tricky collateral packages that come with them. Much of it involves the deals that don’t fit neatly into a template. We close a steady stream of standard financings quietly and efficiently, and we put our sharpest work into the complicated ones.
The partners trained and made partner at a leading Oklahoma firm, and their experience spans banks of every size, from community and regional institutions to money center banks among the largest in the country. That high-stakes experience shapes the work: documents drafted to market best practices, with the precision, structuring, and negotiating judgment of a national practice, delivered with the responsiveness only a focused boutique can offer.
Nexus Legal is Oklahoma’s only law firm member of the Loan Syndications and Trading Association (LSTA). Finastra, the maker of the widely used LaserPro lending platform, engages a single law firm in each state to review its loan documentation for compliance with local law. In Oklahoma, that firm is Nexus Legal. The firm is recognized in the 2025 and 2026 editions of Best Law Firms for Banking and Finance, and both partners are recognized in the 2026 editions of Best Lawyers and Super Lawyers.
National law firms, including Am Law 100 firms, retain Nexus Legal as Oklahoma local counsel for opinion work and substantive transactional support. The firms that handle the country’s largest deals rely on us, and so can you.
Our transactions regularly involve collateral and borrowers in other states, and we coordinate with local counsel as needed to close in every jurisdiction.
Our Story
Our founders were partners at a prominent Oklahoma-based law firm, where we spent years representing banks in complex commercial financing transactions, building deep experience in healthcare lending, commercial real estate, syndicated credit facilities, structured finance, and complex multi-party transactions.
We launched Nexus Legal in February 2024 because we believed bank counsel could be better: faster, more precise, and more responsive, without the overhead and bureaucracy of a traditional firm. Two years and $2 billion in transactions later, our clients have proven us right. The kind of work that used to require a 200-lawyer firm. It doesn’t.
We built it on the belief that the highest-quality bank counsel should also be the easiest to work with.
Why Choose Nexus Legal?
Trusted by Top Banks
Nexus Legal represents BOK Financial, Stride Bank, Arvest Bank, Armstrong Bank, and Simmons Bank, among other financial institutions. We also represent private lenders, family offices, and fintech companies. Our clients come back because the work is right, the closings are smooth, and the experience is better than what they were used to.
Depth of Experience
The same partners who draft your documents negotiate with borrower’s counsel and run the closing. On a complex deal, that is where it matters most: the most experienced lawyer in the building is the one in your documents. You reach the person doing the work, you get an answer when you call, and that continuity means fewer errors and faster turnaround.
Flexible, Fair Pricing
We’re a different type of firm, and we don't bill by the hour. We've found that the billable hour rewards inefficiency and can set a law firm’s incentives against the client’s, and we want to line up with yours. Our work is a flat fee that’s priced fairly.
Speed and Accuracy
Our clients don’t choose between fast and right. Loan documentation is delivered on schedule, drafted with precision, and ready for closing. Clients regularly tell us that closings elsewhere drag, that documents recirculate four and five times, and that the invoice bears no resemblance to the original quote. We built the firm to put an end to that.
Our Focus
We focus on the work we do best: complex commercial lending for banks and lenders. We would rather be the right firm for a focused group of clients than one more name on a vendor list, so we are selective about what we take on. When we take a deal, it has our full attention from term sheet through closing.
Our Approach
Everything we do serves one goal: making your deal easier to get done. The partners handle the work themselves, we price it flat, and we use technology many firms don’t, so a focused team can draft faster and catch more, with strict controls over your confidential information.
The Meaning Behind “Nexus Legal”
We also made a deliberate choice not to put our names on the door. The legal industry's habit of stamping partner names on letterhead and signage has always struck us as focused on the wrong thing. “Nexus” means a critical connection point, which is what we set out to be: the link between legal expertise and our clients’ business objectives. This firm is not about us. It is about the work and the clients we serve.
The same instinct shaped our domain name. The .pro extension was created for licensed professionals like attorneys and accountants, and we chose it on purpose, because we take our professional obligations to our clients seriously.
